I work in an office where, generally, faults in the infrastructure have to be bureaucratically processed for weeks before someone from maintenance appears. So today I was pleasantly surprised by what I witnessed. A newly installed ultra-bright light had just started to flicker rapidly, reminiscent of an Ibizan strobe, and was annoyingly in my field of vision. Instead of reaching for a pen to begin filling out a fault form, I instinctively reached for my Reiki toolbox.

I connected to Reiki and set the intent of fixing the light fitting; in fact I imagined it turning off altogether. After a few minutes I got back to my day job of email ping-pong. Admittedly, I had my doubts over the efficacy of Reiki on this occasion, as the lightbulb wasn’t my usual type of client. Moments later a rare sight befell me, as walking down the office floor was a man carrying a large yellow ladder. He stopped under the flickering light, shimmied up the ladder and turned the light off. On leaving, the maintenance person even said to a colleague that a form will need to be raised to get it fixed.

I’d just like to point out that this occurrence is so rare in the office, that I can’t comprehend how it was fixed so quickly. Was this intervention due to the power of intent and the help of Reiki?
